Osbeckia octandra is a plant species that belongs to the family Melastomataceae. It is endemic to Sri Lanka, where it is known as Heen Bovitiya or Bovitiya in Sinhala language. It is also reported to be found in Tamil Nadu of India. Some facts about this plant are:
